Adoptable Rottweiler

Kaia

Hellooooo Beautiful! This gorgeous lady is Kaia. She is as sweet as they come and loves her snuggles, kisses, and belly rubs. She is great with other dogs, adores children, and is even OK with cats. Kaia went through a rough patch when she was younger and still battles with her demons. She is afraid of men at first but comes around quickly, particularly if they are sitting down offering hot dogs! She is startled by loud noises and is a bit nervous in new situations. It will take her a week or 2 to really settle in. She is perfectly house trained and does not need to be crated as she does not get into anything. She is a lab/rottie mix with the coat of a lab and the stocky build of a rottie. She is truly a remarkable dog that simply needs a home with the patience to let her come out of her shell.

Barrett (adoption pending)

Barrett is around 2 y/o and is super loving and playful. He currently weigh in at 85 pounds but is slightly underweight. Barrett is heartworm positive, which is why he is on medical hold. Once he recovers from treatment, he will be taken off of hold. However, please note that during this time, we will accept applications/app fees but he won't be able to adopted until after he recovers. NOTES: Barrett is a "talker" and "mouthy" and will be best with an experienced rottweiler owner and families without small children. (We are working with him to teach him that there are better ways to get our attention.) Also, NO CATS.

Biggie (Available/medical hold)

Let us intrduce Biggie. He is a young male between 18-24 months old. He is learning house etiquette and how to play with toys. He's very gentle when taking treats from your hand but hasn't shown to be treat motivated. Biggie has decided he likes ear scratches and affection from humans. We don't have his full back story but it's obvious he has no experience inside as unknown noises send him running for the doggy door. He's almost house trained and is learning the difference between good and bad toys. He is an adolescent male Rottie boy who has just been fixed so it's recommended that he go to an experienced owner. He loves the ladies but doesn't always show tact. He gets along with everyone he has met so far. He weighed in at just under 80 lbs during his neuter but has a lot of room to grow into his head and feet. The bad news is he is heart worm positive but has already begun his treatment. He is fostered in the Raleigh area.

Areas for Adoption

All RHR available dogs live in foster homes, indoors, as part of the family. Each dog is spayed, neutered, up to date on shots, dewormed, and microchipped. At this time, due to the size of our rescue, adoptions are limited to NORTH CAROLINA, SOUTH CAROLINA, and VIRGINIA. +/-6 hours from RDU.

Adoption Fees

Our total adoption fee is $250. This is divided into two parts: An initial, non-refundable $25 application fee and the remaining $225 balance. The $25 application fee "holds" the dog for you while we process your application, call your vet, and references, and conduct a home visit. The remaining $225 is due at the time the dog joins your family.

On average, it takes 7-10 days to process an application. We do operate on a "first application fee paid, first served" basis. Fee can be paid using the "DONATE" button below - please indicate in the notes that it is for an application fee, and the intended dog. If you have any questions about the adoption process, please email our adoption coordinator, Jay, at RHR.Adoption@gmail.com. NOTE: Please add rhr.adoption@gmail.com to your Address Book or Safe Senders List to make sure you receive communications from RHR and not have them go into your junk folder.
